Collection Name:Derived Pisum DiversityCollection Image
Collection Description:This collection was designed to hold derived genetic diversity of Pisum such as Recombinant Inbred Lines (RILs), Near-isogenic lines (NILs) and other mapping populations of interest to pea breeders and geneticists. The sub collection EnKaBr includes three F13 RIL populations derived from reciprocal crosses between the cultivars Enigma, Kahuna and Brutus, as reported by Moreau et al. 2018, https://doi.org/10.1017/S1479262118000345. The germplasm was developed by Dr Noel Ellis, Prof Claire Domoney and the GRU at JIC as part of the DEFRA-funded Pulse Crop Genetic Improvement Network (PCGIN). The sub collection 281Cameor includes an F7 RIL population, which originated from a cross between JI0281, an Ethiopian landrace cultivar and Caméor, the pea reference genome variety. The germplasm was developed by Dr Julie Hofer and Dr David Lloyd at Aberystwyth University, as part of the EU-funded LEGATO project.
